The Corporate Governance Council (CGC), during its meeting held on April 7, 2025, unanimously decided to elect Mr. Andreas Stavropoulos as a new independent, non-executive member to the Board of Directors of Growthfund (HCAP). His term of office starts on April 14, 2025, and expires on April 13, 2029.
Andreas Stavropoulos, since 1999 has been active as a venture capital investor in Silicon Valley, California, USA, where he has invested in and at times has served on the boards of more than 50 technology companies over the past 25 years. He had been a partner at DFJ and subsequently Threshold Ventures, firms that have invested in iconic companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, Skype, Baidu and hundreds of others over their combined 35-year history.
In Greece, Mr. Stavropoulos served as a non-executive board member of the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) from June 2021 until its merger with the Growthfund (HCAP) on December 31, 2024. Since October 2023, he had been a member of the High-Level Advisory Committee on Artificial Intelligence in Greece, under the Prime Minister. The committee delivered its final report and recommendations in November 2024, which included the creation of an AI Factory in Greece as a subsidiary of the HCAP, an initiative that Mr. Stavropoulos spearheaded and orchestrated.
Andreas Stavropoulos holds Bachelor and Master degrees in Computer Science from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Harvard Business School.
