Our Contribution to the Society

Citizen Trust

Growthfund, in its effort to measure and evaluate the extent to which its performance and tangible outcomes enhance Citizen Trust in the organization as a institution for public asset development, established the Trust Index as one of its mega KPIs.

Our People

The total number of employees in the subsidiaries and shareholding participations of Growthfund exceeds 25,000.

Growthfund provides its employees a welcoming work environment. Our team members work together effectively in a recognized excellent workplace, since Growthfund, after conducting employee satisfaction surveys and based on the results, has been certified as a Great Place to Work®.

Health & Safety

Growthfund is committed to safeguarding the safety, health, and well-being of its people in the workplace by continuously improving working conditions and preventing occupational risks.

With the support of Safety Technicians, who regularly visit work sites across Growthfund and its subsidiaries, potential hazards are assessed, and appropriate safety measures are implemented. Additionally, safety evacuation guidelines are in place, with designated employees responsible for ensuring a smooth evacuation in case of emergency.

As part of our efforts in prevention, anticipation, and effective intervention, we conduct regular training sessions for employees on health and safety topics. These include first aid and defibrillator training, safe evacuation drills, fire safety training, and proper use of fire extinguishers located within office spaces.

Our facilities are equipped with a fully stocked medical kit, and we have an established occupational physician program. The physician assesses working conditions, schedules individual consultations with all employees to create personal medical records, issues fitness-to-work certificates, and provides medical advice.

Placing significant emphasis on the mental health of our people, we are also exploring the possibility of offering a 24/7 psychological support hotline for Growthfund and its subsidiaries.

Diversity & Equal Opportunities

Growthfund establishes and implements policies and procedures that promote equal opportunies and diversity. The aim is to eliminate all forms of discrimination, as well as to provide effective support to all employees through appropriate awareness raising, education and additional training. Our efforts for equal opportunities and respect of diversity are focused on the following features:

  • Gender, Age, Race, Nationality, Nationality
  • Physical and/or mental disability, that hinders a person’s ability to cope with daily activities
  • Religious and philosophical beliefs
  • Sexual orientation
  • Marital status

Manual against sexual harassment and violence in the workplace

Growthfund drafted and distributed to its subsidiaries, the first manual against sexual harassment and violence in the workplace. The manual addresses and explains the key issues related to sexual harassment, accompanying them with relevant examples of incidents and behaviours. It also describes the steps that victims of sexual harassment can take, using, among other things, the existing policies and mechanisms available at Growthfund.

Upskilling

We recognize the value of lifelong learning and the need for upskilling the employees. Growthfund implements actions aimed to employee empowerment, including training, seminars and conferences.

Growthfund’s Sustainability Academy, is a bespoke online training platform rolled out by Growthfund so that employees at its subsidiaries can familiarise themselves and obtain specialised knowledge on ESG topics. Employees completing the training successfully can also receive a certificate of completion.

Accessibility

Accessibility enhancement has been recognized as an important priority by Growthfund. In collaboration with organisations from Civil Society, Growthfund promotes actions for inclusion and strengthens accessibility for all citizens, on equal terms, to the services offered by its portfolio companies. In addition, it aims to change the general mindset and approach to related issues through the active awareness of the parties involved, both at the level of individuals and organisations.

In this context, Growthfund prepares and publishes its expectations for the response of its portfolio companies to remove barriers and enhance accessibility.

ESG Pilot Projects for the Citizens

Growthfund, through cooperation with its subsidiaries, implements ESG Pilot Projects relating to the opportunities identified in their operation, and improvements that can be captured on a small-scale, within the context of sustainable development. In this way, significant conclusions are drawn for value creation, enabling targeted improvements in the way ESG/sustainability considerations are integrated into the operation of Growthfund’s portfolio assets, where applicable.

The metro station at Monastiraki became fully accessible for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), on the initiative of Growthfund and Transport for Athens. With the aim of facilitating the daily life of fellow citizens, a pilot accessibility project and relevant soft interventions were implemented to enhance the service offering to PWDs at the station. In collaboration with organizations from Civil Society, a focus group survey was carried out among a targeted audience consisting of PWDs, in order to identify the obstacles they face during their commuting.
