One Proposal Submitted for the Concession of Kalamata International Airport

Growthfund announces that today, October 11, 2024, one proposal has been submitted in the tender process for the concession of rights to manage, operate, develop, expand, maintain, and exploit Kalamata International Airport “Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos”. The 40-year concession tender attracted interest from major domestic engineering groups and international airport operators.

The proposal was submitted by the investment consortium:

  • Consortium of FRAPORT AG – DELTA AIRPORT INVESTMENTS S.A. – PILEAS S.A.,

consisting of:

(a) FRAPORT AG, (b) DELTA AIRPORT INVESTMENTS S.A., (c) PILEAS HOLDINGS S.A

The evaluation of the proposal will commence immediately, following the established procedures, with the aim of announcing the Preferred Investor by the end of 2024.

Growthfund’s primary objective, through the concession of Kalamata Airport, is to implement a series of investments within a comprehensive business plan aimed at expanding and upgrading the airport’s infrastructure and ensuring a high-quality combination of operational and maintenance services.

Furthermore, Growthfund will acquire a 10% stake in the Concessionaire Company’s share capital to ensure project continuity and accelerate the completion of upgrades, enhancing tourism in Messinia and the wider southern Peloponnese region.
