The 1st Growthfund Summit on December 5th 2023 – Towards a new business model – Connecting the Public & Private Sectors

Growthfund is exploring the future of business through a comprehensive program of discussions at the Small Athens Stock Exchange on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. This event will feature the participation of government officials, representatives of Greek entrepreneurship, institutional bodies, and management representative from Growthfund and its subsidiaries.

 

Growthfund, fulfilling its role as the National Investment Fund, is organizing the first Growthfund Summit. This event, scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at the Small Athens Stock Exchange, will welcome government officials, representatives of the Greek business community, and institutional entities. The aim is to delineate the journey towards a new business model, focusing on the integration of public and private sectors.

Key topics at the heart of the discussions will include development, reforms, investments, green transition, financing, utilization of public assets, and the roles of sustainability and digitization in bridging the gap between the public sector and businesses.

The summit will commence with an opening speech at 10:00 by Kostis Hatzidakis, Minister of National Economy and Finance.

The first discussion will explore the fusion of growth and efficiency in the new business model, followed by a focus on economic financing, featuring Dimitris Skalkos, Secretary General of Public Investments and ESPA. Additionally, the role of the Stock Exchange as a development tool and the significant impact of the logistics sector on the Greek economy will be examined, with the participation of Yiannis Xifaras, Secretary General of Transport at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

In a Fireside Chat, Thanasis Kontogeorgis, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, and Gregory D. Dimitriadis, CEO of Growthfund, will delve into critical issues of reforms and development, as well as the role of State-Owned Enterprises.

The infrastructure sector will spotlight large projects transforming the country, featuring Nikolaos Tachiaos, Deputy Minister of Infrastructure. Other topics include necessary institutional and operational reforms and the role of corporate governance, featuring the remarks of Vivi Charalambogianni, Deputy Minister of Interior, and discussions on the country’s digitalization journey, featuring Konstantinos Kyranakis, Deputy Minister of Digital Governance.

The summit will conclude with two discussions: the first on the transformative role of public asset utilization in tourism development, addressed by Olga Kefalogianni, Minister of Tourism, and the second on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies in the public and private sectors.
