The Minister of Finance, with the agreement of the European Commission and the European Stability Mechanism acting jointly, selected Pavlina Karasiotou on 22 December 2025 as a member of the Corporate Governance Council (CGC), replacing a member who resigned. Her office term expires on 15 October 2026.
The Hellenic Corporation of Assets and Participations S.A. welcomes the new member of the Corporate Governance Board and wishes to express its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the outgoing member, Mr. George Christopoulos, who served with commitment, devotion and efficiency during his term as Corporate Governance Council member.
Brief curriculum vitae of the new member
Pavlina Karasiotou has been a public sector executive since 2005 and, since 2009, has been permanently assigned to the Ministry of Finance (General Accounting Office of the State). She has served as Secretary General for Fiscal Policy at the Ministry of National Economy and Finance since July 2023 and is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Public Debt Management Agency. From 2019 to 2023, she served as Secretary General for Social Security at the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and also as Chair of the Interim Governing Committee of the Fund for Capitalized Supplementary Insurance. During the period 2012–2015, she served as Advisor to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance (2012–2014) and Director of the Office of the Secretary General for Economic Policy (2014–2015). In the past, she has worked at the European Commission (CEDEFOP).
Pavlina Karasiotou is an economist and a graduate of the Department of International and European Economic Studies at the Athens University of Economics and Business. She completed her postgraduate studies in Economics (MSc in Economics) at University College London and holds a PhD in Economics from the Université Catholique de Louvain. She speaks English, French, Spanish, and German.
