he Board of Directors of Growthfund has appointed Ms. Iro Hadjigeorgiou as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Hellenic Public Properties Company (ETAD) S.A., and Ms. Maria Ioannidou and Ms. Martha Kavvatha as new Members of the Board.
Ms. Iro Hadjigeorgiou brings a wealth of domestic and international experience to her role, having held pivotal positions in the real estate investment sector at prominent companies. Her expertise will significantly boost ETAD’s mission to manage and capitalize on the Greek State’s private real estate property.
Growthfund CEO, Mr. Gregory D. Dimitriadis, commented, “We warmly welcome Iro Hadjigeorgiou to the Growthfund family. Her expertise, experience, and capabilities will decisively strengthen our strategy to maximize value and manage the ETAD portfolio as efficiently as possible. As the sole shareholder, Growthfund will contribute witl all necessary resources to support Ms. Hadjigeorgiou’s mission. We also welcome the new board members, Ms. Maria Ioannidou and Ms. Martha Kavvatha, whose experience in various areas of the private and public sector will significantly enrich the company’s capabilities to manage effectively multiple issues and areas of activity.”
Mr. Dimitriadis also thanked Mr. Panagiotis Balomenos – who until recently served as Executive Director and Executive Member of the Board with acting duties of CEO – achieving positive results. He announced that Mr. Balomenos will be taking on the role of Deputy CEO of the company.

Iro Hadgigeorgiou / Short Bio
Iro Hadgigeorgiou has had a notable career spanning several years, with extensive experience in the real estate investment sector. She has led the strategic planning of major development projects and investments and held significant roles in renowned organizations such as Noval Property REIC, Lamda Development S.A., Goldman Sachs International, The Arts Team @ RHWL (Aedas), and Hellenic Technodomiki S.A. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) from Cornell University with a full International Students and Scholars Award scholarship and an MBA from INSEAD.
Maria Ioannidou / Short Bio
Maria Ioannidou is currently the Chief Executive Officer and Country Manager for Hellenic Duty Free shops, 100% subsidiary of AVOLTA Group. She holds a BSc degree in Chemical Engineering from Aristotle University and an MBA from ALBA. At the first steps of her career, since 1997 and for 16 years, she has held several senior positions in Alpha Bank, at Treasury, Corporate Banking, Syndications and Wholesale Banking. In 2013, when AVOLTA (Dufry at the time) acquired Hellenic Duty Free Shop, she joined the group as the CFO of the Greek Subsidiary (HDFS). She left HDFS in 2019 to join Dimand, holding the CFO role for three years, and the role of Chief Business Development Officer for almost a year, after the company’s listing in 2022. She returned at HDFS in 2023 this time as the CEO, when she was chosen to join forces with the group in order to take the new combined Dufry/Autogrill Company, to the next level, i.e. providing a holistic travel experience to travelers both in travel retail but also in F&B. She is the mother of three sons; she is a devoted runner, speaks fluently English and French and has a good knowledge of German and Spanish.
Martha Kavvatha / Short Bio
Martha Kavvatha holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2004) and a Master (DEA) in Business and Economic Law (2005) and a PhD in Competition law (2009) from the University Paris I – Panthéon Sorbonne. Ms. Kavvatha possesses extensive experience as a legal advisor to institutional, state and European bodies, offering advisory services in state property management, privatizations and prudential supervision. She specializes in supervisory and competition Law and has served as Alternate Member of the Board of the Hellenic Competition Commission (2012-2017).
